History
In 1981, a group of Inman Park parents began Inman Park Cooperative Preschool in the basement of the Lizzie Bethel Baptist Church (currently New Mount Sinai Baptist Church on Euclid Avenue). Relocated to its current site at 760 Edgewood Avenue in 1988, the preschool now maintains morning classes for children aged one to five years. IPCP also offers after-school playtime and enrichment classes and a summer camp.

Program Philosophy
Inman Park Cooperative Preschool (IPCP) strives to develop self-confident, caring, and inquisitive young people. IPCP provides:
- Children aged one to five with a safe, secure and happy environment in which they will flourish.
- Parents the opportunity to be active participants in their children's education.
- Inman Park and the surrounding neighborhoods with a leading childhood learning institution whose success is being emulated across the intown area.
IPCP follows The Creative Curriculum which places primary importance on creating opportunities for children to learn, to satisfy their natural curiosity and to find fulfilling outlets through music, art, literature, drama and other forms of play. The preschool's program encourages the development of the child's self-respect and inner discipline and gives them a foundation for acquiring basic skills and an understanding of the world around them.
Teachers and Staff
While our teachers come from diverse backgrounds and experiences they all share three common traits which embody the spirit of IPCP:
- A passion for working with children and providing an enriched education program.
- A belief in the power of a cooperative relationship between parents and teachers.
- A commitment to ensuring every child develops the educational readiness skills, as well as social/emotional skills, necessary for a successful transition to pre-k or kindergarten when they graduate from our school.
Our director, Betty Wood, M. S., is devoted to our philosophy that children thrive when the family and school work together in the best interest of the child. She spends hours ensuring that the school provides quality learning in a creative setting and that parents’ and teachers’ efforts are coordinated in providing the best educational experience for the unique needs of their children.
