Preschool Lead Teacher

Amanda is beginning her fourth year as a Lead Teacher with the Multi-Age Class. Her background includes five years teaching Pre-K, ten years teaching yoga, and over fifteen years teaching art. She earned her BFA from Atlanta College of Art and her yoga certification from Nirvana Yoga in Grant Park. When she isn’t practicing art or yoga, Amanda enjoys hiking with her dogs and spending as much time as possible outside.

Preschool Assistant Teacher

Fern began at IPCP as an Aftercare Teacher in January of 2022. In 2022-2023 she is excited to be moving to Assistant Multi-age Teacher. She taught silks and circus to elementary age children for 3 years, while attending the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, where she received a bachelors of science in Biology in 2020. After graduating she spent a summer in Alaska surveying environmental disturbance. Fern is a Georgia grown peach, and fell in love with foot hills here in college. She is passionate about ecology, naturalism, and sustainability. In her free time she enjoys experimenting with wild fermentation, hiking, knitting, and foraging. She is excited to be a part of the IPCP community.

Preschool Lead Teacher

Toni was very excited to join IPCP in 2021 as an Assistant Teacher. This year she moves to a Lead Teaching role with a Multi-Age class. Toni is a Georgia native who returned to Atlanta after living in Tennessee. She began her work with children nine years ago at the Alliance Theatre, and continued her career as a music teaching assistant. She has additional experience as a lead teacher in both the toddler and preschool age groups and served as an assistant director.. Whatever age group Toni works with, she loves to encourage their creativity with songs and art. She looks forward to expanding her knowledge by studying Occupational Therapy. When not working with children, Toni enjoys spending time with her husband and their two dogs, spending time in nature, cooking, crafting with her mom, and making music with her dad.

Preschool Assistant Teacher

Saba joined the IPCP family in fall of 2020. She has eight years of experience teaching children ranging from infant to Kindergarten. Saba is passionate about education, nutritious foods, social justice, and sustainability. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, kickboxing, and candle-making. Saba is from the Bronx, NY, where her family runs Taqwa Community Farm. When she lived in NY, she led the community farmer’s market and provided hands-on learning experiences for children in her community. Now that she lives in Atlanta, she is excited to be part of the IPCP community!

Preschool Lead Teacher

Lucy is excited to be in her first school year as Lead Teacher in the Multi-Age Class after two wonderful years as an Assistant Teacher. She has had the joy of teaching yoga to the children of IPCP since 2012, so deepening her connection to the community feels like a natural next step. Lucy holds yoga certifications from YogaKids International, Absolute Yoga in Thailand, and Nirvana Yoga in Grant Park, along with a Bachelor’s degree from Agnes Scott College in Decatur. Lucy lives in East Atlanta with her dreamboat husband and two rocking cats, Debbie Harry and Joan Jett.

Preschool Assistant Teacher

Rachel is beginning her second school year with IPCP. Rachel is from Atlanta, Georgia, and has recently graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s in Linguistics and TEFL education. She has been working in children’s education for four years within the Dekalb County school system. Rachel enjoys playing the violin, spending time with family and friends, and taking nature walks and hikes during her spare time.

Preschool Lead Teacher

A.C. has been with IPCP several years as both an Assistant Teacher and Lead. This year they will be leading the Cottontails class! Their journey in childcare began over 5 years ago. Outside of IPCP, A.C. has worked with children as young as infants and as old as eighth grade. Preschool has become their happy place! They were born in New Orleans, but have spent the majority of their life in and around Atlanta. Their interests outside of planning elaborate studies in the classroom are bouldering, reading, and birding with their partner!

Preschool Assistant Teacher

Kate is very excited to join IPCP for the 2022-2023 school year. Kate recently moved to Atlanta from Western North Carolina. She holds a BFA in Acting for Stage and Screen from Western Carolina University. She began teaching as a volunteer assistant acting teacher in 2015, and since then has spent time developing curriculum and teaching young theatre artists. Most recently Kate, developed the curriculum and directed an All Abilities Theatre Camp for Calliope Stage Company. Kate enjoys encouraging children’s creativity through storytelling and movement. When not working with children, Kate enjoys hiking, theatre, cooking, spending time with her Yorkie, and gardening.

Multiclassroom Teacher

Ginger is happily celebrating her third school year at IPCP in the role of Multiclassroom Teacher this year. She has over 20 years of experience with children ranging from infancy to middle school-age children, in the fields of general and special education. She also piloted the first STEM program for elementary school-age children anywhere in the nation for Cobb County Schools. Ginger received her Bachelors of Science in Education from the University of Vermont, which is in the Green Mountain State. Vermont is also her beloved home state. She has been an Atlanta, Georgia transplant since 2003 and lives with her cherished pup and almost as cherished husband. In her spare time, Ginger enjoys reading mysteries and biographies, watching movies, singing, dancing, taking the occasional online course, walking with her family, and attempting ventriloquism while puppeteering.

AfterCare Lead Teacher

Ms. Elizabeth "Bizzie" Russell is an Atlanta native who loves living in cozy Inman Park with her two cats, dog, and college-age daughter. She has an educational background in Graphic Design and Marketing, and found her passion for early childhood education in January of 2015. Ms. Bizzie believes in leading her teaching practices with positive intent, open communication, and vibrant imagination. This year, we are excited to invite Ms. Bizzie to explore a new capacity of working with children by leading our AfterCare program. She is thrilled to be leading the Lightning Bugs team as new life is breathed into our fabulous afternoon experience. Welcome back, Ms. Bizzie!
